Contemporary Watercolours was set up in 1987 as an arts alumni project whose purpose was to raise money for both artists and academe. It would be based on the creation of definitive watercolours of the buildings and surroundings embodied in our most treasured academic institutions. This embraced universities, schools and colleges, which contain some of the most splendid architecture in Britain. Limited edition prints have been made from these watercolours which have been signed and numbered by the artist and may be purchased from Contemporary Watercolours.
A 20% DISCOUNT WILL BE GIVEN ON ALL ORDERS OF 2 OR MORE PRINTS.
The company was set up in 1987 as an arts alumni project whose purpose was to raise money for both artists and academe. It would be based on the creation of definitive watercolours of the building and surroundings embodied in our most treasured academic institutions. This embraced universities, schools and colleges, which contain some of the most splendid architecture in Britain.
As a result, some of Britain's most distinguished painters in watercolour are commissioned to produce these topographical masterpieces. Limited edition prints are made from the original watercolours which the artist signs and numbers.
To date we have produced in excess of 300 limited editions including most Oxbridge Colleges and many other universities and schools in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. A project was also undertaken with a University in the U.S.A.
The academic institution participating in the project usually receives a generous royalty from each print sold and thus benefiting both art and academe.
The scheme is open to all academic institutions who have up to date alumni lists of 4,000 or more.
Applicants can apply for inclusion by contacting Contemporary Watercolours on 01474 535922.
